Dolly Claydon, 2013-2026

Dolly Claydon, beloved companion and retired professional racing greyhound, was humanely euthanized on February 16, 2026 after a short illness and due to infirmities of old age. She was 13+ years of age.

The Black and white daughter of Dragon Fire and Gable Mindy was born January 9, 2013, and was given the racing name RWC Dolly Parton. Dolly was one of 9 litter mates, 4 males and 5 females, all racing under the names of country western singers. Dolly's racing career at West Virginia Greyhound Racing Track was cut short due to an injury to her tail that necessitated amputation. Her short career was one win in seven starts.

An incredibly intelligent greyhound she graduated at the top of her class in the Connecticut Prison Greyhound Training Program. A ten-week program that's goal was to help rehabilitate inmates at the Corrigan-Ragowski Correctional Facility., a medium/ high security prison.

She lived in Ellington, Connecticut and Saratoga Springs, New York and loved lounging in the sun, sleeping on the bed, affection and dog biscuits. Her key to longevity was her daily walks, keeping the weight off, and good luck.

A special thanks to Bolton Kennels, which seemed to be Dolly's second home for outstanding care.

They referred to her as "soft, sure and full of grace".

She will be missed.
